If your life was a bicycle, what would it be like?
You might have noticed that there's several illustrations of bicycles on this website. The truth is that I love bicycles. They're fun to ride, are energy efficient and in some ways, are neat analogies into how we live our lives.
If your life was a bicycle, would it be a pretty cruiser with a banana seat that you enjoy riding casually around your neighborhood? Would it be a souped-up mountain bike that you ride at top speed, taking the bumps along the way without any special care? Or would it be a loved though slightly abused hybrid that you occasionally leave out in the snow?
Just like while riding a bike, life is filled with hills and valleys. It's hard to pedal up a hill, but they never go on forever and besides, the view can be nice from up there. Speeding down a hill is fun, but also a bit dangerous if you're not wearing a helmet. Just like in leading a life, a bicycle performs better when cared for. Regular maintenance can often prevent expensive major overhauls. Besides, learning to care for your bike - which can be as simple as changing a tire - can be a fun and rewarding process.
It's a simple analogy but then again, life is likewise deceptively simple.
What sort of bicycle do you like to ride? What sort of bicycle is your life like?
