As an organizational change facilitator, I will want to celebrate the chaotic and passionate aspects of your organizational culture. We are complex, multi-faceted individuals with overlapping passions, commitments and values. This is especially evident when we find ourselves in groups. In facilitating change with a group of people, I use an exploratory approach that has us engage in conversations - both at the onset of our work and over the course of it.
I developed a passion for facilitating change in groups in my work with the Center for Community Organizations (COCo) whose mandate it is to assist Quebec-based community organizations. Building on this in my private practice, I am able to work with organizations with varying mandates and structures - from pan-Canadian organizations, informal citizens' networks and for-profit organizations.
I am able to facilitate groups in a variety of contexts be it:
Fees: I believe in being flexible with my fees in order to account for varying organizational resources so I work on a sliding scale. Get in touch if you’re interested in us working together.
Frequently Asked Questions:
When should we get in touch with you? That really depends on the issue - more often than not, it'll be when someone from within your organization expresses the need to think differently about whatever you're going through.
What happens first? When working with a group, I first go through an assessment that brings together a few different voices from within the organization. Together, we explore the needs expressed and begin to envision what an intervention could possibly look like. Once we've met, I'll go home and I'll take a few days to think about our conversation before sending you a more formal proposal of what an intervention could look like.
What if there's a conflict in my organization? I believe that conflict is a natural facet of human interactions. While it can certainly be difficult for those who live through it, it's worth noting that there's positive aspects to a conflict. For one, it denotes an interest in envisioning things differently. It is also a testament to the passion and willingness of individuals to invest themselves in the lives of others. From these two principles, we can move towards creating respectful ways for people to engage with one another, envisioning mutually beneficial alternatives to what's caused them to be in conflict.
What if something comes up in the middle of our work? We'll take it in stride and adjust accordingly - either by considering the additional information that's coming in as just that - valuable feedback for us to keep in mind, or by switching gears and redirecting our work towards adjusted goals.
What's the first step to us working together? Simple - just get in touch!
